We have added a complete listing of all 2,075 sires found in the Spring 2008 Sire Summary. The files can be downloaded by clicking on the links found later in this page. In an effort to allow you to download the information more efficiently as well as give you the opportunity to retrieve only the information you are interested in, the sire summary has been broken up into four different files. The first file consists of the preface of the printed sire summary and contains information pertaining to the use of EPD's, example listing and trait definition, criteria for sire listing, genetic trend, heritability estimates, trait correlation's, percentile breakdown of EPD's as well as accuracy and confidence range. The other four files contain the actual sires themselves. When downloading any or all of the sire files, we recommend that you download the preface file as well. The preface contains a wealth of information that explains how to read and interpret the listing of sires and their information. Together, all five files make up the complete sire summary that can be obtained in hard copy form from the association office.
All of these reports can be downloaded for free from this website. The files that you download can then be printed at your home or office or distributed to potential customers, etc. We do have this information available in hard copy form, which can be sent to you upon request. Utilizing the AHA web site to look up EPD's allows breeders to efficiently research and sort performance information for their future breeding decisions. The EPD lookup utilities and animal search features found in this website used in conjunction with the following report files that are offered can provide you many useful tools for making comparative decisions when evaluating your herd or making a decision on which animals to use in upcoming breeding seasons.
Below the link for each of the following reports, we have provided you with the page count and the electronic file size of the report. Due to the size of some of these files, it could possibly take several minutes for some of these reports to be downloaded to your computer if you are accessing the internet on a typical dial-up modem. Additionally, you will need a copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print these reports. If you do not currently have a copy of the Acrobat Reader, we have provided you with a link at the bottom of this page where you can download the program "free of charge".
The files below are produced only one time per year, after the Spring analysis is complete. The online sire selector will be updated with new EPD values after each analysis, but animals will only be added to or removed from the sire-summary listings after each Spring analysis.
