snidow

Original Bud Snidow Painting
We remember one of the Hereford breed’s true legacies as we honor longtime American Hereford Association employee and friend of the Hereford industry, B.C. “Bud” Snidow, with the sale of an original Snidow painting. The artwork was previously sold in a foundation fundraiser and now has been donated back by Steve and Jill Folkman, Ixonia, Wis. Bud passed away last January and will forever be remembered for his special Hereford paintings and this beautiful heifer in the snow masterpiece is no exception. Bud touched countless lives of Hereford youth through the Snidow Award and the paintings that he created, and it is only fitting to offer an original Bud Snidow to benefit the Growing a Lasting Legacy Campaign.

The Hereford Ox, 1840 -- Historic Hereford Print
Take a piece of history home as HYFA unveils the next in the series of historic Hereford prints on beautiful Giclee canvas. The 1840 Hereford Ox original canvas painting is on display in the American Hereford Association. In an effort to preserve the authentic artwork, canvas prints have been made through a special Giclee process and are being made available to you. The first prints of Anxiety 4 and Silver sold at HYFA’s 2011 Harvest Event in California, and we are excited to offer another group of limited canvas prints. During the auction Print No. 1 of the 1840 Hereford Ox goes to the highest bidder and only 10 prints will be reproduced on canvas.

Original Color Sketch
Kansas artist, Lorelle Wood, shares her talents with the donation of this original color pencil sketch. Lorelle is originally from North Carolina and her love for drawing started at an early age sketching the wildlife and the landscapes she grew up in. Lorelle worked as a special effects artist in the motion picture industry and spent some time working in law enforcement in California before moving with her husband to Junction City, Kan., to begin a full time career in art. Lorelle has donated this original masterpiece to HYFA and she will have other artwork on display during the Hereford events this weekend.
