Keffer, Gebhart Top Senior Showmanship Contest at Junior National Hereford Expo

INDIANAPOLIS ­­­— Colt Keffer, Crawfordsville, Ind., was chosen champion of the senior showmanship competition July 9 at the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) in Indianapolis. Reserve champion was Roxane Gebhart, Claremore, Okla.

After narrowing the field from 111 entries on July 8, the top 10 seniors not only had to prove themselves in the showring, but also under the fire of questions and at the fitting chute.
 
The other finalists were: third place – Emilee Kottkamp, Clayton, Ind.; fourth place – Cameron Curry, McAlester, Okla.; fifth place – Drew Schmidt, Taneytown, Md.; sixth place – Kandi Knippa, Seguin, Texas; seventh place – Garrett Knebel, Winamac, Ind.; eighth place – Kirbie Day, Waxahachie, Texas; ninth place – Gabrielle Glenister, Pulaski, N.Y.; and 10th place – Tamar Adcock, Assumption, Ill.
                                                                                                                             
In the intermediate division, Bailey Buck, Madill, Okla., was named champion and Brooke Jensen, Courtland, Kan., was reserve. A total of 182 participated in the intermediate division.
                                                                                                                             
Junior division champion was Dean Adcock, Assumption, Ill., and reserve was Houston Hutton, Pickens, S.C. They topped the field of 158 competitors.
                                                                                                                             
A total of 78 peewees vied for top showman honors. Tyler Allan, Schulenburg, Texas, was named champion peewee showman and John Hampton Cornelius, Kersey, Colo., was reserve champion peewee.
