The Whiteface Available for Download, Order

The heterosis articles printed in the February Hereford World have been reformatted and are available in a new issue of The Whiteface. American Hereford Association (AHA) members can request printed copies to distribute or the file can be downloaded and printed at home.

The Whiteface issues are available for download at Hereford.org. These newsletters make excellent reading materials at Hereford sales this spring. To request printed copies or if you would like high-resolution files for high-quality printing, please contact Angie Stump Denton at (785) 363-7263 or adenton@hereford.org.

Spring Cow Herd Inventory Deadline Extended to March 16

The AHA has extended the spring cow herd inventory deadline to March 16. AHA encourages all breeders enrolled in the Whole Herd Total Performance Records (TPR™) Program to submit their spring inventory report to the AHA by the deadline to avoid a $2-per-head increase in the inventory fee charged.

If you still need to update herd inventory and use the online registry service, you can find a report in the download files area of your AHA Internet account. Using the online registry service is the quickest and most efficient way to update your inventory to ensure you meet the deadline.

If you use traditional paper forms to submit your herd information and have misplaced your original inventory report, contact the AHA records department.

Calling for Young Hereford Sires

The deadline to nominate sires for the National Reference Sire Program (NRSP) is March 1. The NRSP tests young Hereford sires at cooperator cattle herds throughout the U.S., gaining proof on the bulls and data for the breed. Additional information and a nomination form is included in the January Hereford World on Page 65. You can also contact Jack Ward for copies at (816) 842-3757 or jward@hereford.org.

Make Sure You’re in the Hereford Handbook
