Spring Cow Herd Inventory Due Monday

The spring cow herd inventory deadline is March 16. The American Hereford Association (AHA) encourages all breeders enrolled in the Whole Herd Total Performance Records (TPR™) Program to submit their spring inventory report to the AHA by the deadline to avoid a $2-per-head increase in the inventory fee charged.

If you still need to update herd inventory and use the online registry service, you can find a report in the download files area of your AHA Internet account. Using the online registry service is the quickest and most efficient way to update your inventory to ensure you meet the deadline.

If you use traditional paper forms to submit your herd information and have misplaced your original inventory report, contact the AHA records department.

CHB LLC Sponsors Grill-Off

Exciting plans are unfolding for the third Great American CHB Grill-Off July 6 during the 2009 Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) in Tulsa, Okla. Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) LLC is teaming up with the American Hereford Women (AHW) to sponsor the Grill-off and with this new partnership, CHB will be providing meat product for each team. Contestants will need to become familiar with the CHB program as there will be specific questions from the CHB Web site.

CHB and AHW will be providing unique prizes to the top teams and following the competition, CHB will post the winning teams and recipes on its Web site. This new partnership is an outstanding opportunity to learn more about CHB, get creative cooking and presenting and, above all, HAVE FUN promoting the whiteface!

For more information and the rules of the competition, visit the National Junior Hereford Association Web site, refer to the Advisor’s Handbook or call AHW co-grill-off coordinators Barb Wilkinson (303) 810-1384 or Della Ehlke (406) 266-4121; or CHB LLS staff member Shonda Anderson (816) 842-3758.
