Register Now for World Hereford Conference 2012 in Canada

With the early registration deadline of May 15 just two weeks away, it's time to get serious about your plans for the World Hereford Conference hosted by our neighbors to the north, the Canadian Hereford Association.

The pre- and post-tours have already sold out but you may still register for the main part of the conference that starts on Friday, July 13 in Calgary. The next six days will include tours, a day and a half long technical conference, the World Hereford Conference National Cattle Shows and Junior Bonanza Show and of course, the famous Calgary Stampede. This is the 100th anniversary of the Stampede that will make this year's event even more spectacular. A farewell barbecue dinner on Wednesday, July 18, will conclude the main part of the event. The post-tour will continue on Thursday.

A few things to note: A portion of the event will be on the grounds of the Calgary Stampede. A ticket to the Chuckwagon Races and Grandstand Show ARE included for Saturday night's performance which starts at 7:45 p.m. Please note that tickets to the rodeo, which starts every day at 1:15 p.m., are NOT included in your full registration. Sunday's schedule for the WHC is an open day at the Stampede so if you want to try to get tickets for Sunday's rodeo performance, visit the Stampede website. With this year's special anniversary, tickets are getting scarce but according to their website there are still some available.

In order to secure a hotel at the official hotel, Sheraton Calgary, you must go through the registration process.  You cannot book your room at the conference rate without being registered for the WHC. The hotels in Olds are also sold out however this is mainly reserved for those showing cattle so official attendees should plan to stay at the Sheraton in Calgary.

To view the schedule, fees and tour options go to the World Hereford Conference website. Diane Johnson is the event concierge for the American Hereford Association group and is available to answer your questions and assist with your travel arrangements. You can also contact her at 817-247-1200. An overview document is available on
