BQA Certification offer for Beef Producers
Are you doing your part for the beef industry by earning your BQA certification? For a second year, your checkoff-funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program is giving you the chance to become certified for free thanks to a partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. and the Beef Cattle Institute housed at Kansas State University. The cost of BQA certification is normally $25 to $50; however, from Feb. 3, through April 15, 2014, Boehringer Ingelheim will defray the cost of the certification or recertification, making it free. Log on to the BQA website for more information and to sign up.

GE-EPD Results Update
If you want genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs) be sure to allow for plenty of time for the lab to get the results to you. Do not wait until the last minute. It takes a minimum of SIX weeks to get results after the lab acknowledges the sample, not when it arrives at GeneSeek.
Junior AI Program Discontinued
The Junior AI Program has been discontinued, but those offspring born from program semen will still be eligible to show at the 2014 and 2015 Junior National Hereford Expos.
