GeneSeek Moves:
Check the address on your DNA kit

GeneSeek Inc., AHA's official DNA lab, has relocated to a new facility as of April 28. The mailing address on your DNA kit may be outdated depending on when you received the kit. DNA kits requested before May 1 have the old mailing address. You’ll need to change it to the new address:

4131 North 48th St.
Lincoln, NE 68504

Remember to send all DNA kits to GeneSeek, not the American Hereford Association. If you send your DNA kit to AHA the turnaround time is slowed down.

Support the Juniors:
Handmade Quilt Supports “A Sweet Family Tradition”

Own a piece of Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) history with your support of a beautiful handmade quilt.

For $675, donors will receive:

  1. Ranch or farm name embroidered on the back of the quilt.
  2. A C.J. Brown print of an original painting with a Pennsylvania farm scene, including the quilt.
  3. A chance to bid on the original quilt to be auctioned off at the JNHE. All proceeds from the quilt fundraiser will support the 2014 Junior National Hereford Expo.

To be a part of this innovative way to support youth, contact JNHE steering committee member Charles Williams at 540-460-6194.

Golf Tournament Planned

The Hereford Youth Foundation of American (HYFA) will host its fifth annual golf tournament with all proceeds to benefit the foundation. Hosted in conjunction with the JNHE, the event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. July 8 at the Hershey Country Club, Hershey, Pa.

The tournament will be a four-man scramble with shotgun start. To register, visit, or for more information or to sponsor this event, contact Bailey Clanton or Amy Cowan.

GE-EPD Results Update

If you want genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs) be sure to allow for plenty of time for the lab to get the results to you. Do not wait until the last minute. It takes a minimum of SIX weeks to get results after the lab acknowledges the sample, not when it arrives at GeneSeek.
