For 35 years Rausch Herefords, Hoven, S.D., has led Hereford breeders with the most cows qualifying as Dams of Distinction. With 427 cows recognized, South Dakota is the top state again this year.more

BR Nitro Aventus 3116 ET won the grand champion horned bull title at the Fort Worth National Hereford Show Feb. 1, 2016, during the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas. The grand champion polled bull honors went to C Black Hawk Down ET.
Randy Daniels, Colbert, Ga., judged the 220-head show. The Hereford show honored James Walker of W4 Ranch, Morgan, Texas, and the polled honoree was Maynard and Sandi Warnken of Rockin’ W Polled Herefords, Schulenburg, Texas.

Herefords set records in the Yards and on the Hill at the National Western Stock Show Jan. 14-16 in Denver. A total of 802 Herefords were exhibited throughout the three-day event, which is an increase of 24 head compared to 2015. There were 349 head in the open show, 151 in the junior show, 43 pens of bulls, 29 heifer pens and nine carloads.
