Certified Hereford Beef Volume Surpasses 50 million lb. Sold

 KANSAS CITY, Mo.Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) LLC experienced a record year of growth during fiscal year 2014 with 50.2 million lb. of product sold — a 2% increase compared to the previous year’s total. Since 2008, CHB LLC has increased beef sales by 43%.

Churchill, Stuber, Iron Lake Donate Heifer to Benefit Hereford Youth

 KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Churchill Cattle Co., Stuber Ranch and Iron Lake Ranch have joined together to graciously donate CCC SR ILR Foundation Lady 437B ET to sell as Lot 1, the foundation female, Jan. 16, 2015, during the Mile High Night Sale at the National Western Stock Show in Denver. All proceeds will benefit the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) and the “Growing a Lasting Legacy” campaign supporting leadership and education for the next generation of Hereford youth.

White Hired as Hereford World Editor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ­­­—Julie White is the new Hereford World editor. She replaces Angie Stump Denton who will continue to be the American Hereford Association (AHA) Director of Communications and Public Relations. Julie brings a combination of cattle knowledge and journalism experience to the role.

Cutting Edge Sale Raises $81,600 for Hereford Research

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ­­­— A total of $86,700 was raised during the Cutting Edge Sale Sept. 5 aboard the Showboat Branson Belle. The 15 donated lots generated an abundance of excitement from charitable bidders for the benefit of the Hereford Research Foundation (HRF) and the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA).

Plan to Attend Hereford Genetic Summit

Drought, record-high feed costs, changing consumer preferences and a growing global demand for protein have driven significant changes in the U.S. beef industry. With these trends in mind, the American Hereford Association (AHA) is planning a Hereford Genetic Summit Sept. 4-5 in Springfield, Mo., where Hereford enthusiasts can gather and engage in meaningful discussions about the industry, the inherent strengths and weaknesses of the Hereford breed, and the actions necessary to position the breed for continued growth.

AHA Announces 2013 Dams, Sires of Distinction

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ­­­– For 2013, 2,386 Hereford cows from 679 Hereford performance herds in 43 states earned the honor of being named a Dam of Distinction by the American Hereford Association (AHA).
